If iMessage is cutting both ends of your tweets, you’re not alone

Just yesterday, I wrote that Twitter had a rough February after experiencing issues for the second time in a week, and now the company may be dealing with a strange iMessage bug. If you’re using an Apple device and send a tweet to your buddy on an Apple device, the first and last characters in the tweet may not appear. As reported by 9to5Mactweet samples sent via iMessage seem to be missing the first and last characters of the tweet, making them read oddly.

myself and someone else roadside writer have also experienced this bug. Here’s how Apple’s Messages app on my iPhone, Mac, and Apple Watch displayed a tweet I wrote yesterday:

Can you guess which letters are missing?

And here’s what the tweet I made yesterday actually looked like:

(They didn’t.)

Reached out for comment, Twitter spokesperson Stephanie Cortez said the bug appears to have been resolved, but I’m still seeing the issue. Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Hopefully this will be fixed soon though – otherwise your group chat could be filled with some tweets that seem even weirder than usual.
