The first trailer for Strange worldDisney’s next animated film, looks like a revived cover of a paperback novel.
It’s as beautiful as it is strange, with gooey aliens, hiking mountains and many more sci-fi quirks. Disney describes it as a story that “travels deep into an unknown and treacherous land where fantastical creatures await the legendary Clades, a family of explorers whose differences threaten to destroy their final – and by far – most crucial mission.” It stars Jake Gyllenhaal in the lead role and also has some notable names at the helm, including director Don Hall (Big Hero 6, Raya and the last dragon) and co-director and writer Qui Nguyen (Raya)†
Strange world is slated to premiere on November 23, although it’s unclear at this point whether it will be a theatrical release or debut on Disney Plus instead. In the meantime, if the trailer didn’t give you enough pulp sci-fi vibes, check out the poster below.
